About Ovisola
Ovisola is built by passionate campers. Since 1990 you'll find us on a campsite every summer: first as kids with our parents in a tent in Italy and France, now with our own children and a large touring caravan.
From a tent in France to a caravan full of kids
It started in 1990. Parents in the car, a tent on the roof and our noses pointed south: Italy and France. The smell of pine trees, walking barefoot to the sanitary block in the morning, and pulling out the map in the evening to decide where we'd move on to the next day.
These days the roles are reversed. We bring our own children, the tent has made way for a roomy touring caravan, and the destinations have only multiplied. But the love for camping, for that one quiet pitch with a view, has stayed exactly the same.
Finding a spot on the fly kept getting harder
What changed over the past few years is that almost everywhere you now have to book ahead. Spontaneous touring, packing up in the morning and seeing where you end up at night, is getting harder and harder. Popular campsites are full, and without a plan you can suddenly find yourself with a caravan full of kids and nowhere to stay.
On our last holiday we ran into it again: we were missing a good, complete overview of every campsite nearby. Not a single booking site showing only its paying partners, but genuinely everything on one map, so you can see at a glance what's around you.
That's why we're building Ovisola
Ovisola brings every campsite, motorhome pitch and chalet in Europe together on one map. You filter by type, by amenities, by sea or pool, by family-friendly, and you instantly see where you'll get what you're after. We combine several overviews: from ACSI, partners and OpenStreetMap. Our goal is and remains one big community of campers who feel the same way we do!
We're building the platform we wished we'd had on holiday: to discover, to compare and, if you do want to book ahead, click straight through to the campsite, with no booking fees.
