Our editorial team & sources

Ovisola is made by passionate campers. In our news section 'Camping News Europe' we translate current travel and camping news into what it means for people heading out. Below you'll find who is behind it, which sources we use and how we handle news.

Who writes

Our articles come from the Ovisola editorial team: campers who have spent every summer on campsites since 1990 — first in a tent in France and Italy, now with a caravan and their own children. We write about European campsites, prices, rules, weather and trends from that first-hand experience.

Every news article is published under Ovisola as the publisher. Questions about a piece, or something to report? Email [email protected].

Which sources we use

We rely on trustworthy, verifiable sources and always name them, with a link to the original. That includes industry research (ACSI, NKC, ANWB), official bodies (such as national weather services) and reporting by established news media, which we follow through a news radar.

Our campsite data comes from OpenStreetMap (open data, with attribution) and from affiliate feeds of booking partners. Figures and prices are indicative based on those sources; we flag clearly when something is an estimate.

How we make news

We never copy someone else's text verbatim. We summarise, cross-check against several sources, and explain what the news concretely means for a camping trip — which country, which region, which season. That way we add our own analysis and context rather than reproducing a report.

We choose topics editorially from a weekly news radar. Nothing is ever published automatically: a human decides what we write and puts the piece live.

Corrections

Spotted something wrong, or is information out of date? Let us know at [email protected]. We review the report and correct mistakes as quickly as possible. For a substantive change we update the article's 'last updated' date.

Independence

Ovisola earns from affiliate links: if you book with a partner through us, we sometimes receive a fee at no extra cost to you. That income does not influence our editorial choices. We write about expensive and cheap destinations alike, and about campsites we earn nothing from, just as honestly.
