Frequently asked questions
- What is the difference between a holiday park and a campsite?
- A campsite is about pitches for your own tent, caravan or motorhome; a holiday park is about furnished rental units such as bungalows, chalets and lodges. Many parks also have pitches, and many large campsites rent out mobile homes too — so the line is fluid.
- How does Ovisola decide what counts as a holiday park?
- We combine several signals: the name (holiday park, bungalow park, ferienpark, village vacances), Google's 'holiday park' category, membership of a park chain such as Landal, Roompot or EuroParcs, and the number of rental units — a park with 20 or more known units always counts. Motorhome stopovers are always excluded.
