via Google“We kampeerden hier om gemakkelijk bij de startpunten van de wandelroutes naar Mount Elbert en Mount Massive te komen. Er waren genoeg kampeerplekken, zowel betaald als verspreid over het terrein.”

“Fantastische mogelijkheden om wild te kamperen langs Halfmoon Creek. De meeste open plekken vind je vaak voorbij de trailhead van Mt Massive. Er is veel wild in het gebied, zorg ervoor dat je voertuigen en eten goed beveiligd zijn.”
“Er zijn slechts zo'n zes kampeerplekken met veel ruimte ertussen, waardoor elke plek privacy biedt. Naast de camping stroomt een beekje. Er is een handpomp voor water... dat niet erg lekker smaakt, maar wel een fijne voorziening is. De composttoiletten waren schoon. Dicht bij wan…”
“Ik vind kamperen aan een rivier echt geweldig. Maar het was hier wel griezelig stil. Ik heb zelfs geen vogels gehoord. Misschien is dat normaal deze keer. We hebben wel wat vogels gezien tijdens de wandeling naar Mount Elbert.”
